About The Position

The Shipping Specialist coordinates daily outbound shipping in a fast-paced distribution center. This hands-on role ensures orders are accurate, inventory transactions are completed correctly, and customer deliveries ship on time while supporting safety, quality, and process improvements.

Requirements

Three to five years of shipping, logistics, warehouse, or distribution experience.
Forklift and material-handling equipment experience.
Knowledge of freight carriers, shipping documents, and transportation processes.
Proficiency with ERP systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office.
Strong organization, communication, training, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Nice To Haves

Leadership or lead-hand experience in manufacturing or distribution preferred.

Responsibilities

Prioritize outbound shipments and review schedules, safety requirements, and potential delays.
Coordinate with carriers, freight providers, and internal teams to support on-time delivery.
Verify packing slips, bills of lading, freight documents, and customer requirements.
Pick, pack, label, stage, load, and process shipments accurately.
Monitor workflow and communicate issues that could affect customer deliveries.
Complete ERP and inventory transactions accurately and promptly.
Support shipping procedures, inventory control, departmental KPIs, and company standards.
Conduct shipping audits and assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
Improve processes to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and strengthen customer satisfaction.
Follow safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and material-handling equipment.
Promote accountability and a zero-defects mindset.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
