About The Position

The Shipping Specialist is responsible for preparing, processing, and managing outgoing shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. This role involves coordinating with internal teams and external carriers, maintaining shipping records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and shipping regulations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience
Must be able to read a tape measure.
Must be detailed oriented and be able to perform work with few errors.
Must possess basic computer skills.
Work is completed in a timely manner with minimal errors and rework required.
Demonstrates good use of time and is consistently productive.
Demonstrates a positive attitude toward customers and suppliers.
All forms and paperwork are properly completed and maintained.
Follows all company standard policies and procedures with minimal deviation.
Interpret orders, forms, prints and documents and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

Proficient in the safe operation of sit down propane forklifts, stand up high reach electric forklifts, overhead cranes and other material handling equipment to move, pick and place materials throughout the plant.
Routinely place pallet loads of metal fasteners weighing in excess of 2,500 lbs. in rack locations more than 21 feet high.
Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of all utilized material handling equipment and request additional maintenance when required.
Maintain accurate counts and locations of inventory while moving it for any purpose.
Use a counting scale for a significant portion of shipping and receiving transactions.
Check part numbers and descriptions to ensure the correct part is pulled and shipped to the customer.
Safely load and unload trucks while maintaining an account of the merchandise received or shipped.
Maintain ISO procedures while preparing parts for shipment to Customers/Vendors, including tagging, banding, boxing, assembly, and cleaning.

Complete shop forms, data collection, job tracking cards, work orders, bills of lading, and packing slips for accurate inventory and costing information.
Monitor boxes, pallets, and shipping supplies to maintain satisfactory levels of readiness.
Keep warehouse clean and organized.
Other duties as assigned.
