The Shipping Specialist is responsible for processing various types of orders (Capital, Spares, Service, Repair, and Transfer) in the ERP system daily. This role involves preparing all necessary shipping documentation for both domestic and international shipments, including export documents, bills of lading, pick lists, and customs documents. The specialist will coordinate warranty shipments with Service and Repair Departments, manage vendor returns, and arrange transportation while securing freight costs. Accurate and complete shipping records are essential. The position also requires operating machinery safely, reporting maintenance issues, and notifying appropriate departments of any discrepancies. A key aspect of this role is fostering a productive team environment by encouraging the sharing of ideas and collaborating to resolve problems. The ability to work extra hours, including weekends, is necessary. Adherence to all safety and environmental policies, proper use of personal safety devices, and reporting of any safety concerns or injuries are mandatory. The role involves cross-training and training others, assisting in mentoring, and verifying inbound/outbound material compliance. Preparation of shipments, including boxing, weighing, labeling, and consolidating orders, as well as maintaining warehouse cleanliness, are also part of the duties. The Shipping Specialist will interface professionally with multiple departments (Sales, Service, Repair, QA, Inspection, Purchasing, Manufacturing & Planning) and work with Sales, Project Management, and Accounting to resolve shipping issues. Achieving same-day order turns and meeting established shipping measurement standards are key performance indicators. The role requires working with Material Handlers to prioritize order pulling and packaging, and acquiring a working knowledge of relevant operating systems. Operating material handling equipment, maintaining fork truck operator certification, and using safe working practices are essential. The specialist may be responsible for responding to after-hours calls and will have rotational responsibilities. Following all applicable company and corporate policies, procedures, and programs, including HSE requirements, is required. Maintaining warehouse supplies, submitting requisitions, taking ownership of equipment and work area, and attending HSE training are also part of the responsibilities. Applicable vehicle operator licenses may be necessary.
