About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving associate packs and prepares orders to customer requirements, receives and stocks incoming goods, stages finished orders for loading, and loads and unloads trucks. The role uses a Hi-Lo truck and related shipping equipment, performs inventory and weight counts, documents move tags, and maintains a clean and organized work area. The associate must use independent judgment to pack, stack, and arrange shipments and prioritize jobs. Training follows a plan, with weekly trainee evaluations and a 60-day qualification period.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of arithmetic.
Basic oral and written communication skills.
Basic understanding of personal computers.
Ability to comply with all Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) rules and procedures.
Ability to pass the OSHA Hi-Lo test; a Hi-Lo license is required.
Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 pounds.
Ability to use independent judgment in packing, stacking, and arranging shipments, and to prioritize jobs.

Responsibilities

Receive goods and put incoming parts and materials away, including plating/audit parts.
Pack orders to customer requirements, including banding, weighing, and wrapping shipments.
Stage finished orders for loading and load and unload trucks.
Operate a Hi-Lo truck.
Pull and move parts by matching move and reel tags, and document move tags as necessary.
Make barcodes and attach them to boxes according to customer requirements.
Construct boxes and stock cardboard as needed.
Visually inspect product before packaging it for the customer.
Perform weight counts and adjust inventory as necessary.
Conduct inventory of boxes and reels.
Compact discarded packing and shipping materials.
Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the work area.
Process reports by retrieving selected information and entering data on a personal computer.
Perform other shipping and receiving duties as required by the supervisor.
