About The Position

Perform all tasks related to shipping and receiving finished products, raw materials, and purchased items in an organized, safe, and professional manner. Work is done in a fast paced, team based environment, and this position requires the ability to work independently the majority of the time, and with others to meet daily demands. All work is done in accordance to documented procedures, work place safety standards, industry practices, and the Company employee handbook.

Requirements

  • Must be able to operate a forklift and overhead cranes; previous forklift experience preferred
  • Experience with shipping software and carrier platforms (e.g., UPS, FedEx)
  • Experience with Epicor or similar ERP systems preferred
  • Must have basic carpentry skills
  • Ability to work both individually and as a part of a team
  • Must be detail oriented, quality conscious, and willing to make decisions to support the organizations positive quality reputation
  • Must have the ability to learn and retain new tasks and operations, and step between various duties in the job description seamlessly.
  • Must be professional, and able to deal with internal and external parties in a courteous and positive manner.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must comply with all company policies, including drug screening policy
  • Must meet position overtime requirements as schedule demands

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with customer service and production to ensure that all orders are shipped as required.
  • Package, load, and oversee the shipment of all product on a daily basis.
  • Understand all of the necessary paperwork for shipment of product, and be able to produce it as required.
  • Build required shipping skids, pallets, and containers, using basic carpentry skills.
  • Unload, inspect and store all receipts in a timely fashion. Confirm all appropriate documentation for proper receipt.
  • Promptly deal with any damaged or delayed shipment claims.
  • Use of tape measure, and ability to measure accurately.
  • Competence in driving a forklift and operating cranes.
  • Recognition and understanding of raw materials specific to product lines to meet customer requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned to support production and facility goals.
