About The Position

Indiana Automotive Fasteners, Inc. (IAF) is seeking motivated and knowledge-seeking individuals to join their team as a Shipping/Receiving Team Member. IAF has been a staple employer in the Greenfield community for 27 years, producing fasteners for the automotive industry. This role involves learning about the production processes and contributing to the creation of high-quality fasteners. IAF is one of 15 US manufacturers that can train and offer opportunities in multiple production processes, including Cold-Forming, Thread Rolling, Electroplating, Geomet, Annealing, Heat Treatment, and Material Movement.

Requirements

Six months of related experience and/or training, one-year certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Good communication skills.
Organization and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work as a team.
Ability to lift containers up to 25lbs (repetitively) to 100lbs (occasionally).
Ability to stand for extended periods, use of hands, walk, bend, and/or twist.
Ability to work 12+ hours (including Saturdays and Sundays).
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Responsibilities

Receiving wire, washers, and any materials needed to create fasteners or bolts.
Using a train to transport containers of bolts between processes.
Moving fasteners from one area to another.
Lifting modules of containers provided by the parent company.
Receiving containers of bolts from the quality team.
Placing received items in the correct location and retrieving them when needed.
Preparing items for packing based on customer orders.
Loading and unloading semi-trucks.
Picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for shipment.
Verifying order accuracy, quantities, and shipping documentation.
Operating shipping equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts (if certified).
Generating and processing shipping labels and transportation documents.
Coordinating with carriers and transportation providers.
Maintaining inventory accuracy by reporting shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
Following all safety, quality, and warehouse operating procedures.
Keeping shipping and staging areas organized and clean.
Assisting with cycle counts and inventory audits.
Meeting daily productivity, quality, and shipping deadlines.
Communicating shipment status and issues to supervisors and other departments.
Receiving incoming shipments and verifying products against purchase orders and packing slips.
Inspecting materials for damage, quality issues, and quantity discrepancies.
Accurately recording and entering receiving information into inventory or warehouse management systems.
Unloading trucks and transporting materials to designated storage locations.
Labeling, storing, and organizing inventory according to company standards.
Reporting damaged goods, shortages, or receiving discrepancies to management.
Maintaining inventory accuracy through proper receiving and documentation practices.
Operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (if certified).
Supporting cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities.
Maintaining a clean and organized receiving area.
Working closely with purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams to resolve receiving issues.
