About The Position

This is a supervisory role in the Shipping and Receiving operations for a family business specializing in meat portioning and cooking. The position involves directing and coordinating daily activities, supervising staff, and managing the receiving, shipping, storage, distribution, systems administration, and inventory of company product.

Requirements

  • BS/BA or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in logistics and/or shipping and warehouse departments with progressive responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of computer operations and software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe).
  • Experience with warehouse equipment such as Forklift, Stand-up Lifts, Pallet Jack.
  • Must be properly trained and licensed to operate lift equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the scheduling of department personnel to ensure proper staffing for efficient receiving and distribution.
  • Manage dock operations and verify all inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Ensure the accuracy of customer order shipments and timely distribution to maximize customer service.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing orders against appropriate documents.
  • Train personnel on procedures and ensure proper training and licensing for lift equipment operators.
  • Maintain the safety program to ensure a safe and clean workplace, complying with OSHA, local, and state regulations.
  • Conduct monthly inventory counts and end-of-year inventory audits.
  • Troubleshoot system issues.
  • Communicate with production regarding needed materials.
  • Ensure compliance, verification, and implementation of food safety and regulatory requirements, quality systems, and product specifications.
  • Oversee inbound shipments of Raw Material.
  • Troubleshoot system issues with receiving product.
  • Check inbound shipments for OS&D (Over, Short, and Damaged) and file claims with vendors if needed.
  • Manage inventory and capacity.
  • Complete and submit daily Receiving paperwork.
  • Set up outbound orders daily.
  • Coordinate with Dallas on trucks and quantities for shipping.
  • Manage inventory for shipping, including rotation, orders, and coordinating with production on product needs.
  • Verify order accuracy.
  • Set up trucks and shipments for off-site storage.
  • Complete and submit daily outbound paperwork.
  • Exercise supervisory authority in hiring, training, performance management, merit recommendations, and terminations.
  • Manage employee hours and approve weekly time for non-exempt personnel.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
