The 3rd Shift Shipping & Receiving Supervisor maintains overall responsibility and accountability for functions within the shipping and receiving (S/R) department. This role involves implementing company rules and regulations, monitoring department performance against goals, and actively participating in daily staff meetings. The supervisor must adhere to all safety rules, conduct accident and incident investigations, and comply with current GMP rules and the Food Defense Plan. They will also participate in internal audits and inspection walks, complete assigned tasks in Corrective Action Plans, and understand Lean Manufacturing tools. This position is responsible for training all shipping and receiving personnel, acting as the primary liaison with Customer’s Logistics and assigned carriers, and managing inventory of Loose Pack, Materials, and Finished goods, including physical inventory counts and consolidation. The supervisor will be responsible for department discipline and adherence using the WMS (Warehouse Management System), working closely with Production and the Supply Chain Manager to meet production needs. Additionally, they will ensure all forklifts and material handling equipment are in good working order, manage the inter-departmental transport of materials, and oversee the shipping of goods related to Food Bank, Rejects, and Returns. Performance reviews, goal setting, counseling, and disciplinary actions for S/R employees are also key responsibilities.
