About The Position
RSF is seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our fast-paced shipping department. This individual is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate outbound shipments while maintaining the highest quality standards for our customers. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a demanding industrial environment and leads by example.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the recycling industry.
- Experience operating horizontal balers.
- Experience operating sit-down forklifts.
- Previous supervisory experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or production.
- Knowledge of recyclable commodities and customer quality specifications.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities of shipping personnel and forklift operators.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping department.
- Inspect high-value loads before and during loading to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Inspect baled commodities for quality, contamination, and bale integrity.
- Efficiently utilize labor and equipment to maximize productivity.
- Coordinate trailer loading and unloading activities.
- Train and coach forklift operators on safe operating practices.
- Communicate shipping priorities and quality concerns with plant management.
- Assist with inventory accuracy, bale organization, and yard management.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety and workflow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
