About The Position

This is a part-time, temporary position for a Shipping/Receiving Specialist. The role involves performing physical and administrative tasks related to shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. The specialist will ensure timely outgoing shipments, process shipments using internal and external software, prepare necessary paperwork for domestic and international shipments, and pack goods according to specifications. Responsibilities also include comparing shipment details against records, maintaining associated files and documentation, and adhering to EHS, Quality, and Environmental standards. Requirements

  • Experience working within a team atmosphere with agility to multitask.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, especially in written materials.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proactive, strong team player.
  • Must follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Oracle, Excel and Microsoft Office suit is a plus.
  • 3+ years of shipping/receiving/stockroom/logistics experience preferred.
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally.
  • Positive, self-motivated and a quick learner.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all outgoing shipments are shipped in a timely manner; notify appropriate persons if there are problems with shipments.
  • Process shipments using both internal and external computer software/hardware.
  • Prepare paperwork and fulfill all necessary requirements to make International Shipments.
  • Packs goods for shipment according to specs transportation methods and routes.
  • Compares identifying information and counts weighs / measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Maintain necessary files and documentation associated with outgoing shipments.
  • Perform the physical and administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
  • Follow site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.
  • Execute and maintain ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System (depending on location).
  • Ensure adherence to company’s values (ICARE).
