About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Operator I is focused on learning and performing basic shipping and receiving duties for high-voltage EV battery packs and components. Works under close supervision to develop familiarity with hazardous materials handling, regulatory requirements (DOT, IATA, OSHA, FMCSA), and EVBS-specific safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and up to 2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or operations environment.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills (e.g., inventory systems, scanning tools, or Microsoft Office).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard work instructions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across operations teams.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 lbs. and perform manual handling tasks throughout the shift with team assisted lifting of heavier items.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) where applicable.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions, including temperature changes, noise, and moving equipment.
  • Visual acuity, manual dexterity, and attention to detail required to read labels and documents, operate scanners/systems, and ensure accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or EV battery handling/related environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), or handheld RF scanners.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new processes and adapt in a fast-paced operations environment.
  • Knowledge of HAZMAT related to EV batteries.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming and outbound shipments of EV battery packs and hazardous components.
  • Perform safety checks on incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Obtain and Maintain Hazardous Material certification as required.
  • Assist with inbound deliveries, verifying purchase orders, shipping documentation, and preparing outgoing shipments; updating shipping and receiving and update inventory control systems appropriately.
  • Support accurate labeling and documentation for hazardous materials in compliance with DOT, IATA, and OSHA regulations.
  • May operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping/receiving area, prioritizing high-voltage safety.
  • Participate in EVBS-specific safety training, including high-voltage battery handling and hazardous materials protocols.
  • Use checklists and tools to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with special EVBS logistics projects assigned.
  • May help with other tasks in the warehouse or inventory area, as assigned.
  • Support additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
