About The Position

The Shipping/Receiving Operator 1 is responsible for the identification of specific component parts and the preparation of products for shipment. This role involves operating material handling equipment, packaging products, loading and unloading finished goods, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The operator will also interpret necessary documents, collaborate with team members, and utilize ERP software to manage job and material status.

Requirements

• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Skill of effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills
• Skill to accurately use tape measure and precision measuring devices
• Computer literate; particularly in word processing, spreadsheet, email, shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications
• Ability to perform basic shop math functions
• Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork
• Ability to electronically record production information
• Ability to work independently using standardized practices and/or procedures and with others as part of a high-performance team
• Adapt to changing work priorities
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills

Responsibilities

• Uses a crane, hoist, forklift, or other material handling equipment to transport materials and products into and out of the work area as required
• Packages, bands, or shrink-wraps products or loads
• Efficiently loads and unloads finished products on trucks
• Follows customer shipping specifications/standard work
• Inspects of material handling equipment and lifting devices
• Verifies/Counts parts moved to match paperwork for inventory accuracy
• Maintains accurate inventory of shipping materials
• Interprets blueprints, BOL, and other necessary documents to identify parts
• Collaborates with other members of the shipping process
• Utilizes ERP software to understand the status of jobs & materials moving through the manufacturing process
• Inspects deliveries and accurately logs documentation
• Gathers/picks/assembles products on load lists
• Puts product away in designated areas
