This role is responsible for coordinating the activities of employees in the shipping department, helping to train and motivate them in their work standards. The position requires ensuring shipping supplies are on hand, assigning employees to work stations, and maintaining a competent crew. The lead will also suggest disciplinary actions, be responsible for various reports, and provide input for employee evaluations. Additional duties include assisting in inventory control, promoting harmonious working relations, recommending efficiency improvements, entering shipping data, and managing all safety issues, including accident reports. The role demands maintaining confidentiality, communicating problems verbally to supervisors and other departments, and working with minimal supervision, at times independently. Compliance with company rules, regulations, policies, and all safety, health, and environmental regulations is essential. Following and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and company policies, meeting attendance standards, and performing other assigned duties are also key aspects of this position.
