About The Position

The Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Control Associate is responsible for coordinating all incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations. This role supports production, purchasing, and logistics by ensuring materials are handled efficiently, documented accurately, and stored properly.

Requirements

  • Forklift certification will be required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1–2 years of shipping/receiving or inventory control experience
  • Basic computer skills; experience with ERP or inventory software a plus.
  • Epicor ERP system knowledge highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, pack, and label outbound shipments following company and carrier requirements.
  • Verify order accuracy, including product numbers, quantities, and documentation.
  • Generate shipping paperwork (packing slips, bills of lading, shipping labels).
  • Schedule carrier pickups and communicate with logistics partners.
  • Safely load trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials for accuracy, quality, and damage.
  • Compare shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
  • Document discrepancies and communicate issues to purchasing or management.
  • Unload materials using appropriate equipment and deliver items to designated areas.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts through cycle counts and periodic physical inventories.
  • Update inventory management systems with receipts, shipments, adjustments, and transfers.
  • Track stock levels and alert supervisors when materials are low or overstocked.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of all materials.
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Keep storage areas clean, safe, and organized.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, equipment procedures, and company policies.
  • Assist coworkers, production staff, and management with material flow needs.
  • Operate warehouse equipment when certified (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
