About The Position

Perform duties to prepare and execute the shipment and receipt of product, raw materials, and supplies. This is a union position. Union-provided benefits begin after completion of the 90-day probationary period.

Requirements

• Able to speak, read, and write English.
• Prior forklift and walker experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic working knowledge of computers and programs related to email and database management.
• Able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to lift 50 pounds daily, approximately 5% of each day.
• Able to lift or move more than 50 pounds and up to 500 pounds a few times per month.
• Able to walk or stand approximately 8 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials from inbound and outbound trucks.
• Schedule dock appointments with customers and third-party carriers.
• Verify the condition and quantity of materials being shipped or received.
• Move, store, stack, and deliver materials and products to designated storage or production areas.
• Update the inventory system by scanning product in and out of rack and warehouse locations.
• Conduct trailer inspections and complete related documentation.
• Operate material handling equipment.
• Conduct weekly and monthly inventory cycle counts.
• Provide on-the-job training to co-workers as needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintain a safety-minded attitude that supports the company’s safety culture.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
