Requirements

  • Ability to recognize and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and inspection materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form with supervisors and all levels within the company regarding job duties.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow simple oral or written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management software (e.g., Epicor), Microsoft Office, and data entry.

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of shipping and regulations desirable.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Work-related experience in a shipping environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and observe all necessary safety procedures, including safety glasses, shoes, ear protection, machine interlocks, and lifting guidelines.
  • Prepare orders for shipment by pulling sales orders, wrapping parts, packaging items, and completing required paperwork.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves using shipping and receiving equipment like forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks safely.
  • Load materials into vehicles and secure them with strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
  • Perform or assist with inventory cycle counting and investigate discrepancies.
  • Follow shipping procedures as defined by Prince Industries' ISO certification requirements.
  • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or glue shipping labels onto crates or containers.
  • Organize inventory as needed.
  • Operate shipping/receiving equipment such as scales and stretch wrap machines, and use pallet jacks to move shipments.
  • Assemble cardboard containers or select pre-assembled containers.
  • Complete job-related paperwork, including labels and tags, and enter transactions into the inventory management system (Epicor).
  • May be required to use a forklift and narrow aisle truck when specifically instructed by the Department Supervisor.
  • Review correspondence (Teams messages, emails) and respond to requests promptly.
  • Work effectively and harmoniously with department personnel and co-workers to meet company goals.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the assigned work area.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, which may include temporary department transfers.
