About The Position

Akima Support Operations is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Clerk to perform clerical and physical tasks related to shipping goods and receiving incoming shipments. Routine day-to-day tasks follow established guidelines; unusual, non-routine problems are handled with specific guidance from a supervisor or other officials. The position involves 75% travel and is performed on-site. The work environment includes periodic overtime and exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather. Work takes place both indoors and outdoors.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in technical military logistics procedures.
• At least 2 years of experience with logistics STAMIS.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and a background investigation.
• Ability to receive a favorable Tier 1 investigation and obtain and maintain a CAC.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 60 pounds and perform pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.
• Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in logistics STAMIS, such as CMOS, SARSS, SAMS-E, or GCSS-A.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate workers handling goods to be shipped or received.
• Verify that orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities gathered for shipment against documents.
• Ensure shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles.
• Prepare and maintain shipping records, such as manifests and bills of lading.
• Verify incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records.
• Check incoming goods for damage and ensure they are appropriately identified for routing to departments.
• Prepare and maintain records of goods received.
