About The Position

This role is responsible for driving a seated forklift to load and unload trucks and racks of glass. The associate will also be responsible for data entry, coordinating deliveries, maintaining records, staging material, wrapping and boxing material, and transporting materials within the plant. Quality inspection and adherence to safety regulations are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Must be able to drive a seated forklift.
  • Must be proficient at using a computer—specifically Microsoft Office (Excel).
  • Must be able to wear company-issued safety vest, hardhat, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses and gloves.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision.
  • Must be able to work overtime with flexible starting times in some departments.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safe performance of tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years warehouse/manufacturing experience.
  • Glass industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads trucks and racks of glass; packs and stacks product in appropriate areas.
  • Utilizes a seated forklift to transport material safely throughout the plant.
  • Utilizes the computer and Microsoft Excel to perform data entry related to shipments.
  • Ensures trucks are loaded according to DOT Safety Standards.
  • Coordinate deliveries to customers and clients on a daily basis, including boxing goods, addressing packages, and staying in contact with shipping companies.
  • Keep records of goods that have been shipped and received, preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for supervisors.
  • Stages material daily prior to loading trucks; reads and attaches appropriate labels and tags to products.
  • Wraps and boxes material with plastic wrap and cardboard to prevent damage to material.
  • Transports glass or other materials from one position/location to another in an effort to expedite the production process.
  • Straps glass to the carts and or trucks so they are safe for moving.
  • Follows work instructions by reading labels to expedite the production process; understands and communicates paperwork and labels/picking list.
  • Quality inspection, operating equipment, and/or manually maneuvering equipment.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
