About The Position

This role is responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with documentation and established requirements. The position involves physically moving inventory, utilizing various shipping systems, and preparing shipments. For SQF Certified Sites, additional responsibilities include understanding cGMPs, performing basic sanitation, and adhering to food safety and quality standards. The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and representing the customer's interests.

Requirements

  • High School, Vo-Tech or equivalent graduate with 1-2 years related experience and/or training.
  • Prior shipping and receiving experience and international shipping experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, packing slips.
  • Computer-user proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and ability to learn new systems / software as required.
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate / present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees.
  • Basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Effective time management and organization skills.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor.
  • The ability to read, write, and comprehend information provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in an ISO 9001/13485 certified environment.
  • Forklift certification and experience.
  • Knowledge of and/or previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Physically move inventory, verifies that physical quantities and shipping methods are in accordance with documentation and established requirements.
  • Use and maintain IQMRP and UPS online systems to ensure accuracy and compliance between database records and physical transactions.
  • Use UPS and FedEx Online to coordinate domestic shipments.
  • Use UPS, DHL and FedEx international online to coordinate international shipments. Can determine correct schedules and tariffs.
  • Arrange appropriate trucking company shipments and/or pickups.
  • Use IQRF on a daily basis.
  • Repackage product as needed, to prepare outgoing shipments in accordance with purchase order specifications.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments and packing slips in accordance with pick tickets.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance, to properly supply certifications and required inspection data with outgoing shipments.
  • Use forklift to load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments, and to physically transfer inventory to floor locations and inventory locations.
  • Coordinate with customer service, to arrange outgoing shipping methods in accordance with customer expectations.
  • Arrange shipping service for molds and to load and unload molds.
  • Sign for and verify incoming shipments to purchase order.
  • Inspect for damage to incoming shipments, and initiate quarantine action as required.
  • Performs all necessary IQMRP (Material Requirements Planning) transactions, to justify database information with physical inventory transactions.
  • Provide back-up coverage for operators, as needed, to give breaks.
  • Be able to effectively operate equipment as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to and communicate to others the Health, Safety and Quality policies, including use of PPE.
  • Have a basic understanding of the cGMPs and Good Hygiene Personnel Practices.
  • Notify SQF Practitioner and/or Supervisor of any repairs or adjustments that are required.
  • Perform Basic Sanitation Functions.
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, and or Regulatory Requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company, HACCP, and SQF.
  • Notify SQF Practitioner/Quality Manager or any other Management personnel of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues.
  • Identify problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the raw material, processes, quality system, or safety system, by performing Production/Quality Checks as assigned.
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system. Be able to execute and follow the HOLD SOP.
  • Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Employee follows all Food Fraud/food Defense Policies while on company property.
  • Thorough understanding of all Company policies, including GMP’s and safety policies, HACCP & SQF.
  • Adhere to safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Wear company issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as uniforms, gloves, hairnets.
