About The Position

Worthington Industries is hiring a Shipping/Receiving 1 employee for its Shipping and Receiving department, working a 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. shift. The role handles varied shipping and receiving activities and requires organization and strong time-management skills. Duties include scheduling trucks, preparing paperwork for material receipts and shipments, and maintaining positive inbound and outbound truck flow through the facility.

Requirements

Knowledge of inventory control.
Working knowledge of PCs and the Windows operating system; Oracle training is available.
Excellent forklift and material-handling skills.
Familiarity with shipping-related paperwork and system transactions required for daily activities.
Two to five years of prior shipping and receiving experience.

Nice To Haves

Advanced knowledge and familiarity with plant-wide production, purchasing, and maintenance activities to facilitate appropriate stocking and issuing of MRO items.

Responsibilities

Communicate with carriers and schedule appointments for inbound and outbound loads.
Accurately receive, unload, and store material in inventory.
Stage machines for work in process and accurately perform system transactions.
Stage loads and load trucks with products to meet delivery dates.
Communicate and coordinate with outside departments on shipping and receiving.
Ensure proper receipt of coils in the computer system; perform data entry, build loads, print bills of lading, and complete export papers.
Receive, store, and issue tools and other items for the plant.
Maintain log books for issuing certain production components.
Train and mentor other shipping and receiving employees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
