About The Position

Contract Lumber is hiring a Shipping Manager for its Flowery Branch, Georgia location. The Shipping Manager reports directly to the Yard Manager and is responsible for tracking and handling materials, parts, products, and stock items. The role supports daily outgoing shipments and customer service, and manages operations in an active lumber yard, including inbound and outbound shipment scheduling, inventory monitoring, yard transfers, and resolving customer service issues. The schedule is Monday through Friday on a flexible first shift, 40 hours per week, with overtime when needed. Pay is based on experience.

Responsibilities

Read bills of lading and shipping reports.
Communicate consistently with customers to support satisfaction.
Oversee operations to ensure on-time delivery.
Manage and motivate load-building associates and commercial drivers.
Manage daily lumber-yard operations, including scheduling inbound and outbound shipments, resolving customer service issues, communicating expectations to associates, and partnering with the Yard Manager.
Keep management informed about delays or discrepancies involving suppliers or shippers.
Track and monitor inventory status and supply usage.
Schedule yard transfers as needed.
Review vendor invoices for potential discrepancies.
