About The Position

The Shipping Manager oversees and directs all logistics operations at the Carthage, TN facility. This position is tasked with ensuring the efficient and cost-effective loading, transport, and delivery of goods. Key responsibilities include formulating and executing logistics strategies, supervising logistics personnel, and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain to achieve the company's operational objectives and satisfy customer requirements.

Requirements

Deep understanding of logistics principles, processes, and best practices.
Knowledge of transportation, warehousing, and distribution management.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing logistics team.
Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working collaboratively with other senior executives.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present logistics information to various stakeholders including senior managers, employees, and external partners.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement logistics strategies to achieve business goals and enhance operational efficiency.
Oversee logistics operations to ensure the timely and cost-effective transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods.
Ensure efficient and timely distribution of products to customers.
Develop and implement strategies to improve delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance logistics efficiency.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve service levels, and increase productivity.
Lead and mentor the logistics team fostering a culture of high performance and professional development.
Ensure the logistics team has the skills and resources necessary to support the company's objectives.
Manage relationships with 3rd party carriers, and truckload logistics providers, including reviewing contracted rates and fees, disputing invoices and tracking repair viability.
Work with Customer Experience, Operations, Logistics, and Procurement to optimize 3rd party shipments.
