3rd Shift Shipping Loader

About The Position

The Shipping Loader supports the Distribution team by loading and unloading bakery products, preparing products for route drivers, counting inventory, and helping ensure accurate and efficient product allocation. The role also involves completing shipping paperwork, conducting trailer checks, reporting equipment inventory levels, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and collaborating with team members. Loaders are expected to operate and care for company equipment, including forklifts, responsibly and in compliance with safety requirements.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to count and perform basic math.
Strong interpersonal abilities, with an emphasis on teamwork and collaborative problem-solving.
Willingness to work various shifts in support of the operation's needs.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push and pull heavy wheeled equipment or carts, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods during a shift while maintaining a normal range of motion in all extremities.
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and crouch to access equipment, tools, or materials.
Ability to use arms, hands, and fingers to handle or operate machinery, tools, or controls.
Ability to perceive and respond immediately to visual and audible safety alerts and warnings, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, airborne particles, odors, and fumes.
Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or work platforms as required.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods using office equipment and computer systems.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and protective clothing for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with basic computer software, particularly spreadsheet tools, is highly desired.
Previous experience in a labor-intensive role; warehouse experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Load and unload bakery products safely to prevent damage.
Select and prepare products for dispatch in alignment with route drivers' schedules.
Count inventory and contribute to accurate product tracking and management.
Complete load sheets, block sheets, and other paperwork accurately and neatly.
Check trailers by sweeping them and inspecting for damage, then submit the information to the department manager.
Inform supervisors in advance about floor inventory levels of empty trays and other equipment.
Allocate products to specific routes efficiently and accurately.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area in accordance with safety and hygiene standards.
Collaborate effectively with team members.
Responsibly operate and maintain company equipment, including forklifts.
