About The Position
Tower Extrusions, LLC. is a privately owned aluminum extrusion company that has been in business for over 40 years. The company is hiring a Shipping Loader (Crane) at its Wylie, Texas facility to safely load outbound trailers. The role stages material, builds safe and stable loads, and works closely with the shipping supervisor and shipping clerk throughout the shift.
Requirements
- Must be certified, or become certified, to operate an overhead crane through the safety department.
- Must be able to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds and move about the plant and yard.
- Must be able to work required overtime.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of verifiable crane experience in a manufacturing or warehouse facility is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily crane inspection checklists and report safety issues immediately.
- Perform operator-level preventive maintenance on the crane.
- Coordinate with the shipping supervisor and shipping clerk on assigned loads.
- Sort and stage bundles on the shipping floor for loading.
- Report damaged bundles immediately.
- Build loads based on bundle weight, bundle dimensions, and dies in bundles.
- Secure loads with belly straps, corner protectors, and sufficient strapping for transport within the yard.
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the shipping supervisor or manager.
