About The Position
Tower Extrusions, LLC., a privately owned aluminum extrusion company, is hiring a Shipping Loader (Forklift) at its Wylie, Texas facility. The role safely loads outbound trailers by staging material and building safe, stable loads. The Shipping Loader works with the shipping supervisor and shipping clerk throughout the shift.
Requirements
- Must be certified, or become certified through the safety department, to operate a forklift.
- Must be able to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds and move about the plant and yard.
- Must be able to work required overtime.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of verifiable forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse facility is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily forklift inspection checklists and immediately report safety issues.
- Perform operator-level preventive maintenance on the forklift.
- Coordinate with the shipping supervisor and shipping clerk on assigned loads.
- Sort and stage bundles on the shipping floor for loading.
- Immediately report damaged bundles.
- Build loads based on bundle weight, dimensions, and the dies in the bundles.
- Secure loads with belly straps, corner protectors, and sufficient strapping for transport within the yard.
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the shipping supervisor or manager.
