About The Position

The primary role of the Shipping Lead is to organize and lead key areas of the shipping department as directed by the Shipping Supervisor. Work with Shipping Supervisor and/or other departmental staff to assist in resolving any customer shipment issues.

Requirements

3-6 months experience in a warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong written and verbal communication
Good computer skills with spreadsheets, word processing, and MS Office Suite
Detail oriented, strong math and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a culturally and ethnically diverse workforce.
Strong problem-solving skills, flexibility, and the ability to work independently
Strong teamwork skills
Ability to maintain an excellent attendance and punctuality record.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) expected but not required.

Responsibilities

Organize and prioritize pick ticket ladder to ensure Shipping Supervisors picking instructions are being executed.
Fully complete all required shipping documents for daily outbound packages.
Stage and load all outbound packages.
Utilize forklift to load palletized big dealer shipments.
Answer all internal inquiries into status of orders.
Work weekend shift (Open and Close) during spikes in warehouse workload.
Work staggered shift (Sat-Wed) during holiday period.
Investigate reported mis-ships by customers.
Prioritize, coordinate, and dispense both ASAP and Big Dealer customer orders ensuring vendor guide are adhered to and ship dates are met.
Review and update vendor guide file making sure most recent vendor guide is available and followed.
Maintain a summary of vendor guides for use by shippers as a quick reference tool.
Monitor and order shipping and pallet supplies as needed.
Monitor and diligently resolve inventory discrepancies surfacing through the picking process.
As needed, assist in the picking and packing of ASAP orders.
Other projects as directed by Shipping Supervisor and Director of Distribution.
