Requirements

Proficiency in MS Office applications, strong Excel knowledge
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking.
Able to work alone or with others to complete tasks.
Able to read/write English

Nice To Haves

2+ years of experience in a warehouse environment using record keeping and internal computer systems to access and document shipping records preferred.

Responsibilities

Keeps records on incoming shipments.
Monitors incoming shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Verifies accuracy of shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
Consults with management to clarify department priorities, identify problems, and suggest changes for improvement.
Determines shipping priorities and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals loaded boxcars and truck doors.
Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
Directs movement of shipments from shipping area to storage and/or work areas.
Compiles records of unfilled orders and posts weight and shipping charges.
Prepares required department records and reports.
Recommends measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, and quality of service, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
Trains and assists workers in shipping and receiving activities.
