About The Position

MI Windows and Doors is one of the nation’s largest suppliers of vinyl and aluminum windows and patio doors, with plants across the country. We are looking for Shippers to join our amazing team at our Gratz plant! In this role you will gather components together to complete an order and secure it properly in trailer according to the needs of the facility. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a pay rate of $22.65 + $1.50 Shift Diff. for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:30pm-11pm). Requirements

  • Valid PA driver's license and safe driving record is required
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy products
  • Must have good people skills when communicating with fellow team members and work well in group environments
  • Capability to stand and move frequently while performing repetitive tasks
  • Possess a collaborative, team-driven attitude. Team members rely on each other to complete required tasks in order to meet daily and weekly production scheduled, and as a result a good attendance record and a team focus is critical.
  • Be quality and precision-driven, and able to follow all quality and safety requirements
  • Have a customer service mentality and a strong desire to meet daily production goals so the organization can meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Show strong reasoning and creative problem-solving skills to overcome production challenges
  • Must have yard jockey test before they are able to operate solo.
  • Yearly MVR background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand orders
  • Read job order for specification of product
  • Understand the scanning system for loading trucks
  • Obey all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Complies with all safety procedures and wears appropriate PPE
  • Inspect work in process and finished units to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Understands loading process and responsibilities
  • Provide or actively participate in continued process improvements
  • Regular punctual attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Learn product identification
  • Learn to secure product properly
  • Loads and unloads trucks when not moving trailers in and out of docks.
  • Properly moving trailers on our property
  • Performing any load status yard checks as required by facility.
  • Visually completing safety and road worthiness of trailers on our property.
  • Red tag trailers, if needed.
  • Obey any and all applicable traffic laws and facility procedures.
  • Participating in continuous improvement processes.
  • Maintain an effective Preventative Maintenance Inspections.
