About The Position

Gildan's vision is 'Making Apparel Better®'. This position is for a Shipping Driver at the Virginia Service Center, working from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The role involves operating stand-up type powered equipment, completing safety checklists, logging into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) via an RF terminal, and moving pallets of cases to designated locations as directed by the RF terminal. Specific pick-up and delivery locations include sortation staging, conveyor induction stations, VNA rack stations, AS/RS induction platforms, shipping prep areas, service promo/repurpose areas, and service radio shuttle. The operator will scan barcodes on pallets and locations to confirm moves within the WMS. The role also includes performing order fulfillment work, being cross-trained in all warehouse functions in specified areas, moving cases between various warehouse sections, loading promo product, and locating/retrieving shipping cases from the sorter. Essential duties include performing scans and administrative work for WMS and productivity tracking, scanning cases and pallet labels to assign cases to pallets, operating lift equipment, physically lifting individual cases to build pallets, and hand-wrapping pallets when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily safety and preventive maintenance checklist for assigned forklift equipment.
  • Logs on and off of Warehouse Management System at truck-mounted radio frequency (RF) terminal.
  • Picks up pallets of cases and moves to appropriate location, as directed by RF terminal.
  • Performs any order fulfillment work required, in any warehouse job function.
  • Fully cross-trained and qualified for accountability on all warehouse functions in specified areas.
  • Performs specified scans and administrative work for warehouse management system and productivity tracking.
  • Scans all cases and pallet label on completed pallets to assign cases to pallets within Warehouse Management System.
  • Must operate lift equipment.
  • Must be able to physically lift individual cases/cartons to place on pallets to complete pallet build.
  • Operator may also be required to hand-wrap pallets when needed.
