Shipping - Forklift Operator I
About The Position
Gildan is a leading manufacturer of everyday basic apparel with a strong portfolio of brands. This role is for a Shipping Driver on the 2nd Shift, operating stand-up type powered equipment. The position involves completing daily safety and preventive maintenance checklists for assigned forklift equipment, logging in and out of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) via a truck-mounted radio frequency (RF) terminal, and moving pallets of cases to appropriate locations as directed by the RF terminal. Specific pick-up and delivery locations include completed pallet staging, pallet conveyor induction stations, VNA rack pick-up and delivery stations, Shipping Prep areas, Service Promo/Repurpose Areas, and Case AS/RS induction platforms. The operator will scan pallet bar codes and locations to confirm moves in the WMS. The role also includes performing any order fulfillment work required in any warehouse job function and being fully cross-trained for all warehouse functions in specified areas. Functions include moving cases from VNA to Label Prep, moving cases from Repurpose to dock locations, loading Promo product for outside contractors, moving palletized cases with powered forklifts, and locating/retrieving shipping cases from the sorter. The position requires performing specified scans and administrative work for WMS and productivity tracking, scanning all cases and pallet labels on completed pallets to assign cases to pallets within the WMS, operating lift equipment, and physically lifting individual cases/cartons to place on pallets to complete pallet builds. The operator may also be required to hand-wrap pallets.

Responsibilities

- Picks up pallets of cases and moves to appropriate location, as directed by RF terminal.
- Scans, truck-mounted scanner attached to RF terminal, bar codes on pallet and location to confirm correct move to Warehouse Management System.
- Performs any order fulfillment work required, in any warehouse job function.
- Fully cross-trained and qualified for accountability on all warehouse functions in specified areas.
- Move cases from VNA to Label Prep
