About The Position

Galvion designs, develops, and manufactures ballistic helmets and dynamic power and data management solutions for the modern battlefield. We are a passionate, global, and fast-paced team collaborating with several strategic partners and are committed to enhancing the overall agility and survivability of the modern warfighter and tactical operator. The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for managing all outbound shipments, maintaining packaging material inventory, ensuring proper packaging of products for shipment, controlling helmet inventory (including SKUs and T&E samples), and palletizing larger orders.

Requirements

  • 5 years of domestic and international shipping experience preferred
  • Knowledgeable in FTL, LTL, small package, air and ocean freight
  • Previous experience dealing with freight carriers, freight forwarders, and brokers
  • Intermediate computer skills and strong interpersonal skills required
  • Fork lift operator license preferred; will provide training
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be good with numbers and capable of writing legibly.
  • Ability to work with minimum of supervision, including prioritizing of work.
  • Work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Customer Service, Logistics and others to ensure accurate ERP transactions and related paperwork are provided for all shipments, inclusive of BOL, CI, Packing Slips, etc.
  • Interface with freight carriers and brokers, including the booking of LTL and FTL shipment pickups.
  • Process small carrier packages
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Ensure material is properly marked with relevant information, including part number, quantity and date received.
  • Sort orders to either palletize or box for shipments.
  • Wrap, strap, and take pictures appropriately for large shipments
  • Utilize BGL portal for cross docking orders
  • Utilize Syteline ERP system
  • Utilize FedEx, UPS, DHL, and USPS shipping portals.
  • Operate fork lift as needed
  • Primary function will be shipping customer orders in a timely manner and will include both domestic and international freight.
  • Ensure warehouse is clean, accessible and safe for employees and customer traffic.
  • Determine cost efficient means of shipping, by comparing different freight carriers.
  • Keeping stock in order, including maintaining an accurate list of what is on-hand.
  • Wear the proper safety equipment.
  • Assist in other warehouse duties as required
