About The Position

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with shipping and production at the plant. This role supports production needs by providing work orders for manufacturing, data entry, and inventory supply of consumable items. The clerk will assist with data entry of production and shipping tallies into an inventory management system, and help create work orders, labels, and barcodes. They will provide updates to management on the status of work orders and daily production, and assist with reviewing detailed inventory position reports to prioritize production and plan schedules. The position also involves conducting spot inventory cycle counts and weekly physical inventory of consumables. Additionally, the Shipping Clerk processes and tallies inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy, and assists with load diagrams for trucks and rail orders to maximize freight utilization and balance load weights. Other duties as required and adherence to all work safety rules and regulations are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years’ related experience an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Aptitude for details and solid math skills.
  • Professional telephone skills required with emphasis on customer service.
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal staff and work in a team-focused environment.
  • Must have own reliable transportation as there is no public transportation to the plant.
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship.

  • Lumber manufacturing or lumber yard experience an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support production needs by providing work orders for manufacturing, data entry, and inventory supply of consumable items.

  • Adheres to all work safety rules and regulations.
