About The Position

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Shipping Clerk in our Leetonia, OH location. The Shipping Clerk prepares shipping paperwork for trucks, stages metal for shipment, and loads/unloads small box trucks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with ERP systems required
• Experience with computer programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Mobile equipment experience required (forklift/combi)
• Safety conscientious
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
• Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures or rulers.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available.
• Regular attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares shipping BOL’s, Manifests, Tickets, and other related documents.
• Assists with coordination of outside processing to include scheduling pickups and deliveries.
• Stages metal on the floor for upcoming shipments.
• Load and unload trucks with tow motor.
• Coordinate and schedule with drivers
• Enter shipping information into customer-specific portals.
• Assist with maintaining accurate inventory data and participate in monthly/quarterly inventory counts.
• Maintain and update data in various computer systems including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel and ERP Systems (ie: Epics, Epicore, Dynamics365.)
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area, including general housekeeping of the work area.
• Assists with general housekeeping of the Final Inspection area.
• Assists in the absence of the Shipping Supervisor.
• Calculate loads and volumes to determine fit and safety requirements of the shipment in the most effective way possible.
• Prepare pallets and bundles for secure shipping.
• Additional warehouse duties as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
