About The Position
The shipping position verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for both domestic and international shipments. The shipper will work closely with Sales to meet to shipping expectation for each customer.
Requirements
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Nice To Haves
- Shipping software experience (e.g. Fedex, UPS, USPS)
Responsibilities
- Print daily sales orders and cross-check with computer software to ensure accuracy
- Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs
- Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped
- Quality control-verifying that the items boxed match the items on the sales order
- Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping
- Track inventory and report any shortages to General Manager.
- Process orders based on the customer’s preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)
- Contact carrier and schedule for pick up as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Provide assistance in other departments as needed.
