About The Position

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely shipping and receiving of materials. This role includes organizing shipments, verifying contents, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operations. The position also requires handling emergency and standard parts orders, picking up and delivering materials, and reporting any discrepancies or issues to management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and work independently.
  • Solid math skills and basic analytical abilities.
  • Computer proficiency, including experience using multiple programs and web platforms.
  • Understanding of quality assurance principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and sound decision-making.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds, and push/pull up to 150 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate materials.
  • Visual and auditory ability to safely operate in an active warehouse environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret reports, documentation, and work orders.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse or shipping/receiving experience preferred.
  • Forklift operation experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Stage, load, and unload materials safely and efficiently.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Verify outgoing shipments by inspecting contents and comparing them to packing lists or manifests.
  • Coordinate shipment preparation by combining orders and documentation from multiple departments.
  • Report shipment issues such as damages, shortages, or delays to the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Follow and enforce all company safety standards and protocols.
  • Identify and propose process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Handle emergency and standard parts orders.
  • Pick up and deliver materials.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to management.
