About The Position

This position is responsible for managing daily stock inventory, preparing shipments, and ensuring accuracy in all shipping processes. The role involves utilizing the IFS system, preparing documentation, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. The position is temp-to-hire and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with MRP and shipping systems, and strong organizational and communication skills. The role is physically demanding and involves working in a production area with varying noise levels and potential exposure to fumes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience utilizing an MRP system, IFS is preferred.
  • Experience with computerized dispatch shipping systems (UPS, Fedex, DHL).
  • Previous shipping experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and self-discipline traits.
  • Have a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Qualified forklift driver.
  • PC computer familiarity; must be experienced in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills: written oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handling frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Be organized and efficient.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English.

Nice To Haves

  • IFS is preferred.
  • Previous shipping experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing the IFS system reports, determine daily stock inventory items that need to be picked and shipped.
  • Prepare pick lists and delivery notes for daily shipments. If errors exist, coordinate the correction of them.
  • Assure orders and shipping quantities match picking documents through careful audit of said documents.
  • Assemble packaging materials and packages merchandise per instructions, in preparation for shipment.
  • Utilize networked shipping systems through UPS and Fed-Ex to process ground and freight shipments.
  • Enter data pertaining to domestic and international shipments into the company’s IFS system and into the shipping systems of commercial freight carriers (UPS, Fed-Ex, DHL, etc). Prepare export documentation as required for international shipments.
  • Notify consignee of shipment information to other offices and/or agents as needed.
  • Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up of goods.
  • Ensure that drivers depart with appropriate paperwork.
  • Initiate, answer & document tracer inquiries when requested via email and/or fax.
  • Confirm physical shipment of goods and facilitate tracking of packages when requested.
  • Process daily invoices in IFS.
  • In conjunction with supervisor will be responsible for all outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service team to resolve ship instructions or customer requests when required.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all shipping documents by strict adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Gather, enter into IFS and/or internal Network, and maintain all data and records related to shipping activities.
  • Monitor the supply of packaging materials and requisition additional supplies as required.
  • Complete necessary management reports as required.
  • Help with or complete special projects at the discretion of the Manager.
