About The Position

The Plastipak Shipping Clerk is responsible for all phases of operation of the shipping and receiving office, including loading and unloading trucks via forklift. The role coordinates shipments, maintains shipment documentation and inventory, supports trailer management, and maintains office and warehouse housekeeping. The position is for a night shift, and overtime may be needed.

Requirements

• At least one year of forklift experience.
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods, up to 12 hours at a time.
• Ability to bend, lift, and walk around the facility as needed.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to procedures within Safety, the Corporate/Site Quality System, Operation Procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Coordinate loading and ensure proper documentation for all outbound and inbound shipments and shuttles.
• Maintain housekeeping in office and warehouse areas.
• Operate a forklift to load and unload trailers.
• Use an RF scanning device to scan goods and properly maintain inventory.
• Provide instruction to the shuttle driver and manage the pool of trailers.
• Monitor product availability for shipments and work with the manufacturing warehouse to coordinate loads to outside warehouses.
• Report food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
