About The Position

The Shipping Clerk manages and coordinates outgoing shipments across domestic and international channels. This role is responsible for handling a mix of parcel, LTL freight, and hazardous materials shipments, ensuring all orders are processed accurately, compliantly, and on time. This position plays a critical role in maintaining shipping accuracy, regulatory compliance, and overall customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations
  • Experience managing a mix of parcel and LTL freight shipments
  • Working knowledge of international shipping documentation and processes
  • Experience handling or supporting hazardous materials shipments
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in documentation and order processing
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet daily shipping deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with carrier shipping systems (e.g., UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, freight portals)
  • Experience with ERP or inventory management systems (IFS, Oracle, SAP)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, pack, and label products for shipment in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify order accuracy against purchase orders, invoices, and shipping documentation prior to release.
  • Coordinate daily shipments including parcel, LTL freight, and international orders.
  • Generate and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and export paperwork (e.g., commercial invoices.)
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including DOT, IATA, and other hazardous materials shipping requirements.
  • Classify hazardous materials and verify proper labeling, documentation, and packaging standards.
  • Schedule carrier pickups and communicate effectively with UPS, FedEx, and freight carriers.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and update ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments for damage, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Troubleshoot shipping issues, delays, and documentation discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, customer service, and internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
  • Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts, as needed.
  • Maintain documentation and processes in support of internal procedures and audit readiness.
