About The Position

This role is responsible for reading and interpreting manufacturing orders to ensure proper shipping terms are applied. The Shipping Clerk will prepare and process domestic and international shipments in compliance with company, customer, and carrier requirements. They will generate and apply shipping labels, packing slips, commercial invoices, and carrier documentation using WMS and carrier-specific shipping systems. The position requires maintaining accurate shipping records and managing the ship complete process in the ERP/WMS system. The clerk will ensure packages are separated by service level, properly stacked on pallets, and distributed to warehouse loading docks. They will safely handle and transport pallets and packages using material handling equipment, maintain an organized and safe workstation, and report equipment or software issues to the supervisor. Additionally, the role involves managing inventory of shipping supplies, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, assisting with shipping inquiries, managing the creation of 3-in-1 and Outer Carton labels, providing backup support to mailroom and order picking operations, and participating in training activities. The Shipping Clerk may also support cross-functional projects for other Cobra Puma Golf departments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • 6+ months of experience in shipping, warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or logistics operations preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, packing slips, and manufacturing orders.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems preferred.
  • Experience with UPS, FedEx, DHL, and freight carrier shipping systems preferred.
  • Ability to accurately enter and maintain data.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to operate a pallet jacket and shrink-wrap pallets.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Display a positive demeanor with the willingness to learn.
  • Dependable, reliable, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to work Monday-Friday 7:00AM – 3:30PM. Should be available to work overtime, including Saturdays as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with necessary support.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Capable of operating warehouse equipment safely.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret manufacturing orders to ensure proper shipping terms are being applied to manufacturing work orders.
  • Prepare and process domestic and international shipments in compliance with company, customer, and carrier requirements.
  • Generate and apply shipping labels, packing slips, commercial invoices, and carrier documentation using WMS and carrier specific shipping systems (ie. FedEx, UPS, DHL).
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and manage the ship complete process in the ERP/WMS system for all manufacturing orders.
  • Ensure packages are separated by service level, properly stacked on pallets, and distributed to the warehouse loading docks for shipment pickup. Shrink-wrap should be applied to larger pallets being picked up by FedEx.
  • Safely handle and transport pallets and packages throughout the facility using pallet jacks, carts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workstation.
  • Report shipping station equipment or software issues to the supervisor and submit appropriate work orders or IT support tickets as needed.
  • Manage inventory of shipping supplies and notify supervisors of low stock levels.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on shipping accuracy, cost, productivity, and customer service.
  • Assist Production and Customer Service Teams with shipping inquiries/shipping delays.
  • Manage the accurate creation of 3-in-1 and Outer Carton labels when producing stock products. This includes specifying correct country of origin.
  • Provide backup support to mailroom and order picking operations on an as needed basis.
  • Participate in training activities and maintain proficiency on shipping processes and procedures.
  • Occasionally support cross-functional projects for other Cobra Puma Golf departments.
