We are currently looking for an experienced Shipping Associate who prepares orders for shipment by pulling materials, packing boxes, and placing items in the delivery area for pickup. The Shipping Associate follows the organization’s standards of quality and shipping best practices. To excel in this role, you should have excellent attention to detail, be able to multitask, have strong computer skills, and get along well with others. The Shipping Associate is responsible for loading materials to be shipped and for ensuring that orders being shipped out are sent with the correct materials. The ideal candidate will also have 2-3 years of manufacturing experience and experience operating forklifts. This position is a temp-to-hire using a third-party agency. Employees are evaluated after 90 days and offered a position with the company if they are meeting expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated ability to load/unload trailers using forklift and/or manual jack
  • Must be able to be certified as a forklift driver within 90 days of hire
  • Basic math, reading, and computer skills required
  • Good attendance is necessary for this role
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Great attention to detail and time management are necessary
  • Minimum 1 year of similar job experience desired
  • A focus on safety and a positive attitude is a must

Responsibilities

  • Read customer orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Assemble customer orders from stock, place orders on pallets, and convey orders to the shipping department
  • Responsible for the everyday paperwork to ensure our shipments get out the door: Bill of lading, Invoices, Airway Bills, and other documents as required
  • Mark materials with identifying information
  • Open crates and other containers
  • Use of the computer to enter records
  • Prepare materials for distribution and load trucks
  • Complete tasks accurately, working independently and with a team to meet deadlines
  • Other duties as required
