Shipping Associate - 1st Shift
About The Position
The Shipping Associate fills orders, counts, loads, and unloads products on incoming trailers according to the shipping schedule. The role requires demonstrating competency in on-the-job activities that may affect product safety, legality, or quality. It is physically demanding and involves using a hand truck to move stacked products weighing up to 400 pounds for distances of up to 300 feet throughout the day, including into and out of transport trucks and up and down 30-degree slopes. The associate must also stoop, bend, and lift product containers weighing 20 pounds from floor level to a height of 7-1/2 feet. This position supports accurate product receipt and timely shipment, maintains a clean work area, and follows company policies, procedures, attendance requirements, and work schedules. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor or management as part of the role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend, and record information applicable to the job.
- Ability to use a hand truck to transport stacked products weighing up to 400 pounds for up to 300 feet continuously throughout the day, including into and out of transport trucks and up and down 30-degree slopes.
- Ability to stoop, bend, and lift 20-pound product containers from floor level to 7-1/2 feet.
- Demonstrate competency in job activities that may directly or indirectly affect product safety, legality, or quality.

Responsibilities
- Ensure product received from the plant or other plants is recorded correctly.
- Load and unload products to the appropriate distribution area to meet shipping schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor or deemed by management to be an integral part of the job.
