About The Position

The Shipping Associate is primarily responsible for manually transporting product, pallets, cages, and other items needed for shipping; processing required paperwork; and assisting with inventory. The role works under general supervision and must comply with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and applicable local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.

The position requires following departmental and company safety programs and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) wherever required. The work environment may be hot, wet, or cold (45°F/4°C), noisy (over 85 decibels), and dusty, with exposure to CO2, moving production lines and equipment, live animals, and odors. The associate may need to stand for up to eight hours, lift up to 60 pounds, and roll or push buggies weighing approximately 1,000 pounds.

Requirements

• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
• Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
• Ability to work in hot, wet, and/or cold environments, including conditions around 45°F (4°C).
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to work around noise exceeding 85 decibels, CO2, moving production lines and equipment, wet and dusty conditions, live animals, and odors.
• May need to roll and push buggies weighing approximately 1,000 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Previous shipping experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transport product using hand carts, pallet jacks, and similar equipment while following safety protocols.
• Ensure products are labeled, stacked, and wrapped correctly for shipping.
• Scan and track pallets from production to the cooler.
• Verify and process required paperwork correctly.
• Assist with verifying accurate inventory counts as needed.
• Perform all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and applicable local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.
• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
