About The Position

This Stockroom/Shipping Clerk Position Summary involves managing the receipt of finished goods from Operations into Finished Goods Inventory and the shipment of product to customers. The role requires meticulous attention to detail in handling inventory, packaging, documentation, and customer service. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, and proficient with technology, contributing to a lean manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience working in a shipping or receiving department.
• Experience operating heavy machinery (forklift, etc).
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret shipping documents.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.
• Ability to conduct basic mathematical problems including calculating proportions, percentages, area, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Strong computer related skills including familiarization with spreadsheet, word processing, and MRP/ERP software.

Responsibilities

• Receive finished goods from Operations, package them appropriately, store them in designated locations, and transact them in the MRP system into Finished Goods (FG) inventory.
• Move goods from FG inventory and prepare them for shipment by reviewing daily customer sales orders, picking available product, transacting them out of FG inventory, and packaging them in appropriate final shipping containers.
• Prepare shipper documentation, including labels and packing lists, using the Shipper system.
• Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure sufficient storage space and adequate staff.
• Maintain files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports.
• Handle and resolve issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
• Build boxes for packaging.
• Troubleshoot shipping issues and customer complaints.
• Maintain the company stockroom through organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items on a regular basis.
