About The Position

Ellsworth Adhesives specs in materials for cell phones, spaceships, and electric vehicles. Ellsworth Corporation is a global, industry-leading distributor of specialty chemicals and equipment and an adhesive manufacturer. This role is for the TapeCase division, located in Elk Grove Village, IL. TapeCase designs, converts, manufactures, and distributes highly engineered adhesive tape products, offering custom tape solutions through expansive tape converting services. The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for receiving materials, moving them to appropriate locations, and preparing finished products for shipment. This role also involves obtaining shipping cost quotes, routing instructions, and arranging transportation services. Additionally, the specialist will assist with training co-workers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 2 years of Shipping/Receiving experience
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Forklift certifications needs to be obtained within 90 days in the role
  • Proficiently comprehends and follows customers' routing instructions, including but not limited to label, documentation, and transportation demands
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve a high level of work quality
  • Any computer usage: Microsoft Office, ERP, distribution center software and/or hardware (UPC guns, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret order notes and execute order instructions effectively
  • Lifts and/or move up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Executes all duties and responsibilities of Shipping/Receiving, Associate
  • Arranges transportation services for outgoing sales orders through the customer's transportation portal or TMS (Transportation Management Service)
  • Provides quotes and arranges international freight shipments through the company’s designated freight forwarder
  • Fills out various international documentation, such as SLIs (Shippers Letters of Instructions), filing EEI (Electronic Export Information), quoting, booking and confirming cargo shipments
  • Collaborates with Information Technology and/or third-party vendors to troubleshoot system issues
  • Arranges transportation services for outgoing sales orders by making requests through the customer's transportation portal or TMS (Transportation Management Service)
  • Fills out various international documentation, such as SLIs (Shippers Letters of Instructions), filing EEI (Electronic Export Information), quoting, booking and confirming cargo shipments
  • Proficiently comprehends and follows customers' routing instructions, including but not limited to label, documentation, and transportation demands
  • Following directions from the Warehouse Team Lead, performs inventory control tasks
  • Trains other Shipping/Receiving employees
  • Assists in developing job work instructions
  • Provides input on opportunities for continuous improvement
