About The Position

Hohman Plating, a division of Novaria Group, is a leading service provider for plated coatings serving a diversified customer base including aerospace, medical, large equipment and more. In business since 1918, they are seeking long-term employees to join their team. This is a 3rd shift position (11pm - 7:30am Sunday night - Thursday night, finishing out on Friday morning). Training is on 1st shift up to 90 days. The role involves inspecting and recording incoming and outgoing shipments, moving material through the plant, and assisting in the chemical warehouse, lab, or production as needed.

Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or examine parts; and to reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to walk; use stairs; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Occasionally required to sit and talk or hear.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer customer parts to processing departments and stage incoming & outgoing shipments accordingly.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area in compliance with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Unload delivery trucks and common carriers.
  • Assist customers at the Shipping counter.
  • Compare customer information and counts, weights or measures of items to bills of ladings, invoices, and orders.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, verify quantities, and route items to departments.
  • Safely operate lift truck or hand truck within company procedures to move shipments between Shipping department, processing departments and facility storage.
  • Update the computer system with order status for customer information.
  • Package outgoing customer parts to ensure quality and timeliness of delivery.
  • Determine method of shipment.
  • Select preassembled containers or assemble wooden or cardboard container according to work order.
  • Insert customer items into correct containers.
  • Ensure adequate packaging to safely protect the finished product and meet customer specifications.
  • Attach shipping labels or stencils on packed cartons to identify shipping information.
  • Post weights and shipping charges and affix bills of lading.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
