About The Position

The Shipping and Receiving Associate prepares orders for shipment, completes shipping paperwork, and ensures order accuracy. The role also receives, stores, and distributes deliveries; maintains stock in designated warehouse locations; and picks customer orders according to pick tickets. The employee is responsible for safety, organization, housekeeping, and compliance with applicable food safety rules and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or international education equivalent.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds.
Ability to work overtime without notice for critical shipments and as scheduled by management.
Ability to reach, bend, and extend, and lift 50–60 pounds.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may involve cooler temperatures, water or dairy liquids, wet or slippery conditions, noise, and moving mechanical parts and equipment.

Warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Unload delivery trucks using a pallet jack or other warehouse equipment.
Receive and label delivered products for identification and storage.
Put away materials and components for storage or distribution.
Prepare customer orders for shipment using pick tickets and a powered pallet jack, checking item and quantity accuracy and associated shipping documents.
Operate and inspect material-handling equipment safely.
Review inbound shipments and verify items and quantities before accepting delivery; sign bills of lading and receiving documents, note discrepancies, and alert management.
Stock and restock items in their proper warehouse locations.
Load and unload trucks as needed.
Verify inventory counts and conduct physical inventory as needed.
Move materials in and out of work areas and the warehouse.
Notify management of out-of-stock or low-stock levels.
Identify and label boxes, packages, and products according to picking information or instructions from a manager or lead person.
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Report inefficient or unsafe conditions to management.
Complete shipping and receiving paperwork accurately and submit relevant documents to the supervisor.
Use required safety equipment and follow safety rules and procedures.
Work overtime, including without notice when critical shipments require it, as scheduled by management.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
