Shipping and Inventory Lead
About The Position
Works with little to no supervision to set the shipping and inventory plan for the day. Partners with Logistics Supervisor to provide the shipping department with overall guidance. Performs a variety of shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks. Prepares items for shipment ensuring cost effective courier services. Leads the work of shipping and receiving personnel performing related work. Maintains records of materials in inventory and on order. Monitors reorder points and initiates action to replenish stock. Reconciles discrepancies in inventories and notifies supervisor of irregularities.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Knowledge of basic computer use and ERP system experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in shipping or inventory or related field.
- Valid driver's license
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Train new hires in the department
- Partner with supervisor to address and resolve employee issues
- Ensure all shipments receive the proper labeling and postal charges and are packaged to arrive safely
- Accurately label and weigh items to be shipped and ensure proper shipment method and shipping charges
- Prepare detailed and accurate invoices to accompany shipments and ensure all items are packaged and shipped to company standards
- Monitors and maintains current inventory levels; processes purchasing orders as required; tracks orders and investigates problems
- Records purchases, maintains database, performs physical count of inventory, and reconciles actual stock count to computer-generated reports
- Receives, unpacks, and delivers goods; re-stocks items as necessary; labels shelves
- Processes and documents returns as required following established procedures
- May need to safely transport company products and materials to and from specified locations in a timely manner
- Other duties as required
