About The Position

VAL-CO is seeking a full-time Shipper for its Coldwater, Ohio facility. The Shipper prepares and loads orders for motor freight, UPS service, and customer pickup in a timely and efficient manner. The role organizes order staging and loading, communicates order status and needed changes to Distribution Center supervision, and ensures orders are safely packaged and loaded to prevent shipment damage. It also involves assisting customers and visitors, completing paperwork and computer transactions, and maintaining safe, neat, and orderly work areas.

This position is on 2nd shift, with hours of 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Starting wages depend on experience, with top-out pay of $28.06 and a $2.50 shift differential. Generous PTO is available after the 90-day probationary period, and the posting also mentions a quarterly attendance bonus.

Requirements

• Valid forklift license and driver's license.
• Good working knowledge of the company computer system and products.
• Good basic math skills.
• Ability to interact successfully and courteously with others.
• Good organizational and decision-making skills.
• Ability to read and properly complete required paperwork.
• Ability to visualize loads and prepare packaging as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and load orders for motor freight, UPS service, and customer pickup in a timely and efficient manner.
• Organize the staging and loading of customer orders.

• Check that orders are safely packaged and properly loaded to prevent damage during shipment.
• Assist customers and visitors courteously and promptly.
• Complete required paperwork and computer transactions correctly and on time.
• Follow safety requirements and keep work areas neat and orderly.
