The Shipper-Receiver role at Pottery Barn in New York City is a full-time position focused on managing the receipt and flow of merchandise. This role is crucial for maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring the stockroom operates efficiently. The position requires a strong emphasis on customer service, both internal and external, and involves assisting management with shipment planning and staffing needs. The Shipper-Receiver will be responsible for processing incoming shipments, updating inventory records, directing merchandise from the stockroom to the sales floor, and ticketing/stocking merchandise. They will also organize stockroom departments, ensure aisles and exits are clear, and prepare merchandise for distribution. Processing inventory paperwork, including transfers, receiving logs, discrepancies, damaged goods, and returns, is a key part of the role. Additionally, the Shipper-Receiver will maintain accurate records of off-site inventory, process donations and MOS merchandise, and pack/log shipments. Maintaining a clean and organized stockroom, completing daily tasks, and potentially supervising/training stock associates are also expected. The role may require assisting on the sales floor as needed and ensuring all stockroom procedures are followed to minimize company loss.
