About The Position

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production operations during their assigned shift, focusing on safety, product quality, and productivity. This role involves conducting pre-shift meetings, providing guidance and leadership to associates, managing production processes, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The supervisor will also handle emergency situations, conduct job observations, and facilitate training on equipment operation and process requirements.

Requirements

Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers
1 to 3 years manufacturing experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods. Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip)
Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are
Ability to identify and distinguish colors
Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
Knowledge of and familiarity manufacturing software
FORKLIFT OPERATION (Certification Required)
Operates forklifts, as needed, to support Production
Knowledge of 5S and how it applies to specific work area
Knowledge of equipment and electric appliance's mechanical structures and operating principles

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

Conducting pre-shift meeting
Assembly's process of finished products
Guidance and leadership to personnel and motivation of Associates to reach goals
Create grid whiteboard maintenance and direction to Associates
Oversight of glass auditing and Plex entry
Other duties as assigned
Ensure proper wear of PPEs
Monitor yield produced by each shift
Monitor pieces produced by each shift
Conduct job observations (associates’ skills/wait on the job/defects/on-site conditions/preparations)
Conduct training (equipment operation, quality standards, process requirements and information feedback procedure)
Handle emergency issue handling (4M changes, sudden equipment breakdowns, production problems)
